Maxster is just a single artist, a one-man-band so to speak. Using solely the computer, I try to shape sounds into audio output. Mostly working with basic off-the-shelf programs like Magix Music Maker, my major source for "instruments" are standard Soundpool-CDs.
Since pretty much anybody can do that, I always try to develop some sort of uniqueness by adding short audio clips. My main source are home-made videos - mostly from past vacations – from which I extract the audio track and add little bits of that into my songs. People featured in the videos always crack up laughing when they hear themselves „perform“ in one of my songs, and that is pretty much the main purpose of my songs – making a fun track for friends and family.
I classified my music as „pop“. Actually I don’t limit myself to only style, so my songs vary from pop to rock to electronic to house to rap – you name it!
Now I’m very aware that it is pretty hard for „outsiders“ to try to relate to any of this. So you might very well find my songs flat out boring.
But you’ll never know if you don’t give it a chance! Feedback is always welcome, both positive and negative!

Having always hated those piano lessons I had to take when I was a kid, a general understanding of and love for music has stuck with me ever since. Being aware of the possibility of making music using a computer, I didn’t do any serious songs until the summer of 2002.
My main inspiration and mentor (which I will always be thankful for) was a friend of mine who goes by the nickname of Skunk. In 1997 he had done exactly what I picked up a couple years later, using the same techniques. It somehow impressed me so much that I've been sticking to that ever since.
And that pretty much tells it all… |
